Recounting her mother’s life, a woman considers a complex, painful relationship, as images of the two women’s lives are framed and reframed and reexamined. Past and present, loss and love, grief and forgiveness collide as the speaker and filmmaker attempt to understand the challenges our parents face and the gifts and burdens they leave us with.
